The 2017 Midwest Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament will feature some of the country’s top players. Please note that the tournament format could change according to the amount of participants. There will be no cap on the amount of participants this year.
The tournament will begin with group play, where each participant will be randomly placed into a group of 4. Tournament officials will compare, contrast and form the groups according to knowledge of participant levels.
Based on a 64-man tournament field, each participant will play 3 games in group play. A group play schedule will be made so that participants are not waiting an excessive amount of time between games. Group play will take an estimated 4 to 5 hours to complete.
Once all the group play games have been completed and taking into consideration wins, losses and point differential — each participant will be seeded in the 64-man single elimination tournament based upon their performance. The 64-player, single-elimination bracket tournament will proceed until one person is crowned the #MWTecmoX champion.
